1 Corinthians 1:10-18
The culture of ancient Corinth wasn’t all that different from ours. Worship of false gods. Lying, stealing and cheating. Sexual promiscuity and judgment. Hateful words and speech. Doesn’t that sound like the United States in 2018? New believers brought some of this culture into the church and Paul saw the church embracing it. We’re guilty of it, too. Everyone else is doing it. No one is perfect. Other people say that. We don’t grow. We don’t move beyond idolatry. And so we are bound by the chains that come with our social and fleshly brokenness.
