As the lazy days of summer come to an end, fall rushes in and changes everything. The weather starts getting cooler, the trees burst into an array of color and we cuddle up in our cozy sweaters and scarves. Spiced apples and cinnamon even change the way our homes smell in the fall.
Fall is also the time of year that brings change to MH ministry to women.
We kicked off the fall season with a Bible study by Jennie Allen called “Proven.” In this study we were challenged to dig into the word of God and look at Jesus’ plan for our emptiness, our fatigue, our inadequacies, and our sin. In John 7:37-38 Jesus says: “ Let everyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within.” Jesus is saying “Keep coming to Me and I will keep satisfying you. And out of that life with Me, you will overflow and bring life to others.”
Our fall event, Come To The Table, was a beautiful example of our women overflowing with the rivers of living water that bring life to others. Our hostesses opened their homes and invited women to gather around their tables to share a meal and God-centered conversation. Many shared how they felt the love of Jesus in those moments together. My prayer is that these gatherings will continue to happen often and every women at MHBC will be invited to a table.
Looking forward, our new sessions of Bible studies will continue to see change. For the first time ever we are offering several studies to choose from. Being in the word of God is essential to growing in a vital relationship with Jesus Christ. I love this quote by David Platt; “ If we want to know the glory of God, if we want to experience the beauty of God, and if we want to be used by the hand of God, then we must LIVE in the word of God.” If you have never studied God’s word with us, I invite to come join and us in January!
God is all about change. Just look outside; every season we see God’s beauty in completely different ways. So it is in each of our lives. Every season brings change and we see God’s glory in every moment. Don’t blink; you might miss what He is doing!
