Matthew 5:31-48
That’s perfect! We may utter this phrase sarcastically, but typically perfect is associated with absolute perfection. Whether in our job performance, parenting, appearance, intelligence; we seek perfection. Yet when we read the words of Jesus “you must be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect,” we coil away from what we deem impossible. Yet Jesus has deemed us “perfect according to purpose,” not by what talent or character strength we hold.
