What kind of God are we dealing with? David fully understood the wrath and the grace of God when he chose to obey and disobey Him. When God asked David to do something difficult and then David was punished for that decision, David still trusted himself at the merciful hand of God. We may not like or understand God in the Bible or what the Bible is saying, but we were not meant to “stand over” the character of God or the truth of scripture. We are designed for happy endings, and the gospel promise is that it will come. Jesus has come, and will carry it on to completion. We must build a temple, and wait.
