It's not about you. The story of the Bible is not about what you do, it is about what God has done and how we can join Him in what He is doing. David joined God in what He was doing, even if his anointing did not come to pass quickly. He went back to take care of sheep. He suffered. He was chased like an outlaw. However, his promise in God came to pass. There is something deeper to the stories of the Bible than morals, its a revelation of Jesus and an opportunity to join Him in what He is doing. When you are anointed, the promise may not happen right away. You will struggle as David did, but God keeps His promises.
